Prof. Dr. Geert Bouckaert
Prof. Dr. Geert Bouckaert is teaching and researching at the Public Management Institute (Faculty of Social Sciences, K.U.Leuven, Belgium). He is specialised in public sector reform in general and financial management and performance measurement in the public sector in particular. Currently he is president of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS); president of the Scientific Committee of SPAN (Suisse Public Administration Network)and board member of EGPA (European Group for Public Administration) ex officio as immediate Past-President; member of several international editorial boards; advisor to the public sector as well national as international; member of scientific organisations and working groups (ENA, EPAN).
Prof. Dr. Geert Bouckaert was awarded several important awards: Anneliese Maier Research Award in 2014 (Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung, Germany); ASPA International Public Administration Award in 2013 (American Society for Public Administration); NISPAcee Merit Award (Network of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration in Central and Eastern Europe) and Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques, by Prime Ministerial Decree (Paris, France) in 2011. He was awarded doctor honoris causa degrees from University Babes-Bolyai, Cluj-Napoca, Roumenia; Université de Lausanne, Lausanne, Switserland; Aix – Marseille III Paul Cézanne University at Aix – en -Provence, and from Tallinn Technical University at Tallinn, Estonia.
